Dear Student
We would like to welcome you to our dojo. Contained on this site is information, which will make your practice safe and enjoyable. I have been training for over 25 years and have had the pleasure of training with some of the top instructors from Japan. I, as well as our assistant instructors, have studied under direction from the Ki Society USAF and ASU - the major styles of Aikido. Our dojo has been in existence since 1986 and we stress a policy of personal development, mutual respect and community service. If at any time you have a problem, please feel free to set up a meeting with me personally. Aikido is a way that will change your life. Good luck in your training and welcome to our community.
I would like to thank the following Sensei who have guided me on my beginners path to understanding Aikido: Kisshomaru, Waka, Saito, Chiba, Kanai.
With special gratitude, for Saotome Sensei, Sensei William Gleason, Jack Leonardo.
To Sensei John Almeida, Sensei Steve Sturgeon, and Sensei Ito who taught me the martial spirit is a feeling, not a technique and transcends all of the arts.
And my Sempai Steve Bates and Ray Santos who supported and encouraged me through difficult times and truly walk their talk.
I would also like to thank my assistant instructors
Mike Pleiss, Bryan, John, Jim, Scott, Chris, Mark, Sarah, Pete
and all the dojo Sempai present and past who have brought us this far.
To all the students who have chosen Aikido as their way and our dojo to bring their energy to.
In memory of Bobby Baroody and Caroline Bates who were taken way too early and lit my path and heart with their kindness and joy they brought in life.
To my family who put up with me when I put holes in the ceiling with my sword and when I rolled around in stores. And sharing their time with Aikido so I could train.
Thank you all …
Sincerely,
Sensei Don Cardoza
